The New Post has reported, with particular glee, the split between the ex-Giants superstar and his 8-months-pregnant wife, Ginny. The new woman is right out of a Tiger Woods line-up; sexy, young and blonde. The new girlfriend is former NBC intern Traci Lynn Johnson. <p align="left"><a href="http://www.nypost.com/rw/nypost/2010/04/07/news/photos_stories/cropped/tiki_barber--300x300.jpg"><img style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://www.nypost.com/rw/nypost/2010/04/07/news/photos_stories/cropped/tiki_barber--300x300.jpg" border="0" /></a></p><br />Johnson was photographed sitting next to Tiki last month at a Washington, DC, screening of a documentary on Senegal that he hosted for the Travel Channel. Sources believe Johnson also accompanied Tiki to Senegal for the filming late last year, when Ginny was three months pregnant. According to the Post;<br />"<em><span style="font-family:verdana;color:#ff0000;">A source who knew Traci Johnson at Mount St. Mary College in upstate Newburgh said that Barber won her heart more than two years ago -- and that the former star running back isn't shy about lavishing her with gifts.<br />"On her 21st birthday, he sent her 21 dozen roses to her dorm. A couple of years ago, VY spent the off-season in Austin finishing his degree instead of staying in Nashville and learning new OC Mike Heimerdinger offense. It wouldn't have been a big deal if VY hadn't melted down, some teammates implied that he quit, in the opener against Jacksonville. He sounds better than he has other years and he has several months to get comfortable with the offense. I am interested to see how VY handles being named the starter, the last time it didn't go so well. <br /><br />http://www.titansonline.com/media-center/videos/Young-Active-in-Off-Season-Program/9cdd67d6-21cd-4e2c-b618-d751dbec905eCowboyJoehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01558266960197671168noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5270943406927820957.post-83501561278743698802010-02-22T12:22:00.003-06:002010-02-22T13:05:19.781-06:00Tebow getting an overhaul<object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" id="ESPN_VIDEO" data="http://espn.go.com/videohub/player/embed.swf" allowscriptaccess="always" allownetworking="all" height="216" width="384"><param name="movie" value="http://espn.go.com/videohub/player/embed.swf"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="wmode" value="opaque"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><param name="allowNetworking" value="all"><param name="flashVars" value="id=4935535"></object><br /><br />Tim Tebow was a great college QB in Urban Meyer's system at Florida; well suited for the spread because of his size, his running ability and he was able to throw well enough to hit open WRs. He didn't take snaps under center except for kneel-downs at the end of games and he showed little to no ability to read a defense when the Gators got pummeled by Alabama in the SEC Championship game. <br />As Joe Theismann said; <br /> "Obviously at Florida they don't teach throwing the football," and also said Tebow's mechanics are "poor." Theismann also said pointed out that Urban Meyer and his staff have "no clue" regarding the process for preparing a quarterback to play "at the next level."<br />As Tebow admitted the same thing to Adam Schefter of ESPN; <br />"I'm not changing who I am or how I approach football," "But there are things that I can get a lot better at -- my fundamentals. I've never been asked to shorten or quicken my release and not have a loop in it. The changes I'm making have gone very well and it's becoming more and more natural to me."<br /><br />These traits would doom any QB not named Tebow but with Tebow it's different, he's a story. Tebow is working out at D1 in Nashville, TN trying to fix everything wrong with his mechanics, his delivery, taking snaps under center, and his footwork. (In a bit of irony, D1 is partially owned by.....Peyton Manning) <br /><br />Tebow can be an NFL QB, of course so is Brodie Croyle.<br /><br />Thanks to ESPN for the video and the quotes.CowboyJoehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01558266960197671168noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5270943406927820957.post-70679934174530767282009-12-11T08:18:00.004-06:002009-12-11T10:01:32.534-06:00Where is LenDale White?<a href="http://cmsimg.tennessean.com/apps/pbcsi.dll/bilde?Site=DN&Date=20091130&Category=SPORTS01&ArtNo=911300343&Ref=AR&MaxW=180&Border=0"><img style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 180px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 264px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://cmsimg.tennessean.com/apps/pbcsi.dll/bilde?Site=DN&Date=20091130&Category=SPORTS01&ArtNo=911300343&Ref=AR&MaxW=180&Border=0" border="0" /></a> Titans running back LenDale White has been the forgotten man for the Titans this season. Most of the attention and carries have gone to Chris Johnson. While this has helped CJ's stats it hasn't meant wins for the Titans. <br /><div> Anyone who watched the Titans last year knows how important LenDale White was to the team's success. He was the guy who they used in the 4th quarter to win the game for them. He scored 15 TDs last year for goodness sake. The last back todo that for the Titans wasn't even a Titan, he was an Oiler; Earl Campbell in 1979. So what gives? No one really knows, Field Goal Fisher spouts off about how the score often dictated how they used White. Then he was late for the Saturday walk-through, White said he ran out of gas, and was de-activated for the Cardinals game. Whatever the reasons, White sounds like a guy who is tired of playing the supportive teammate; especially since this is a contract year and he wants to show off his skills to potential new employers. This is what White had to say to the Titans' beat writer.</div><div> </div><div> "<em>On Wednesday, White said he’s anxious to get on the field but understands why he's had to take a backseat to Johnson, who leads the NFL in rushing with 1,509 yards. But in his fourth year with the Titans, and in the final year of his contract, he’s definitely not satisfied.<br />“I want to be the best I can be,’’ he said. “And no disrespect to the Titans organization at all, let’s get this clear. But if I get a chance to be the guy somewhere else I am going to go.<br />“I don’t want to sit here and play back-up to nobody. I refuse. I don’t want to. In my mind I have never been a guy who signed up to be a second-tier guy. I never did that. Hopefully I can stay here and we can find a way to let C.J. and me get on the field together.’’<br />White has 221 yards on 63 carries this season, one year after carrying 200 times for 773 yards.<br />“I feel like if I am a free agent,’’ White said, “a lot of teams are going to want me.’’ </em></div><div> </div>CowboyJoehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01558266960197671168noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5270943406927820957.post-47833419389372985152009-11-30T14:38:00.002-06:002009-11-30T15:32:55.153-06:00VY continues to save Field Goal Fisher's job<a href="http://cmsimg.tennessean.com/apps/pbcsi.dll/bilde?NewTbl=1&Site=DN&Date=20091129&Category=SPORTS01&ArtNo=911290806&Ref=PH&Profile=1005&Item=29&Maxw=542&Maxh=352&q=60"><img style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 271px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 352px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://cmsimg.tennessean.com/apps/pbcsi.dll/bilde?NewTbl=1&Site=DN&Date=20091129&Category=SPORTS01&ArtNo=911290806&Ref=PH&Profile=1005&Item=29&Maxw=542&Maxh=352&q=60" border="0" /></a> After yesterday's win over the Cardinals, the Titans are 5-6 and tied with Houston for last in the AFC South one game behind the Jags and in the mix for a possible playoff spot. It seems crazy that the Titans are even in the playoffs conversation but yet they are because of the superb play of <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">VY</span> and those around him. One month ago the team had no life, no spirit and no heart. Now they are the complete opposite because Titans owner Bud Adams stepped in and told Field Goal Fisher to start <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">VY</span>. <br /><br /><em>"I don't get involved with the coaches. I made this move this time because I see we had lost six in a row and we had 21 of the 22 players that got us the best record in the NFL in 2008,'' Adams said. "I said, 'It is time to make a change right now.'<br />"Not that I was against (Kerry Collins), but Vince was ready to go in there and play and he's played like I thought he would play, too.''</em><br /><p>Will Fisher ever admit that he DIDN'T want to start <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">VY</span> or that he did everything he could short of openly defying the owner to prevent <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">VY</span> from starting...nope. He'll stick with the usual coach speak of how it's 22 guys working together, we got some guys back who were hurt, we've grown as a defense...everything but <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">acknowledging</span> that it's the play of VY that has turned this thing around. Everythine else Field Goal Fisher says is true, but it's what he won't say that matters the most; VY has saved the Titans season and has saved his job. </p><p>I don't think Bud would have fired Field Goal Fisher at the end of the season but I do believe that he would have given him and the rest of the coaching staff an ultimatium for next season; get to the playoffs and win a game and everyone is safe. Anything else and...we'll see.</p>CowboyJoehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01558266960197671168noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5270943406927820957.post-80931080693356913482009-11-24T11:59:00.003-06:002009-11-24T13:21:46.607-06:00An apology to VY<a href="http://cmsimg.tennessean.com/apps/pbcsi.dll/bilde?NewTbl=1&Site=DN&Date=20091124&Category=SPORTS01&ArtNo=911240805&Ref=PH&Item=5&Maxw=542&Maxh=352&q=60"><img style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 542px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 301px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://cmsimg.tennessean.com/apps/pbcsi.dll/bilde?NewTbl=1&Site=DN&Date=20091124&Category=SPORTS01&ArtNo=911240805&Ref=PH&Item=5&Maxw=542&Maxh=352&q=60" border="0" /></a> Unlike sports talk radio hosts, ESPN sock puppets or know-it-all bloggers, I'm not afraid to say I was wrong. Dead wrong about VY. At the beginning of the season I felt he had played his last games as a Titan. After his quitting on the Titans against the Jags and then his strange behavior right after that game I figured that Field Goal Fisher was done with VY.<br /> My belief was further reinforced when Field Goal Fisher stuck with Kerry Collins despite it being clear to everyone but him that something had to be changed. I'm convinced FG Fisher would have stuck with Collins had Bud Adams not gotten involved. <br /> In fact Adams had to tell FG Fisher in no unceratin terms to start VY. "I have been wanting [Fisher] to play Vince Young more because [Kerry] Collins has been having his problems out there," Adams told The Tennessean last week. "I just think we need to find out how well [Young] can do.<br />"If you don't play the guy and lose all your games, it is hard for you to see what he can do for you. Vince has won a lot of games for us.''<br />It still took Fisher 2-3 days before he would announce VY was the starter. <br /> I figured after FG Fisher did announce VY was the starter he would look for the first sign of him not doing the joband pull him, but to VY's credit he hasn't given FG Fisher a reason to take him out. From the looksof the sideline last night, FG Fisher is his biggest fan, you'd never know that FG Fisher and the coachig staff had lost confidence in VY. <br /> Keep up the good work VY and again, I was wrong.CowboyJoehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01558266960197671168noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5270943406927820957.post-65641082716970639492009-11-16T08:10:00.004-06:002009-11-16T08:56:42.867-06:00Why did it take Fisher so long?<a href="http://cmsimg.tennessean.com/apps/pbcsi.dll/bilde?NewTbl=1&Site=DN&Date=20091115&Category=SPORTS01&ArtNo=911150805&Ref=PH&Item=32&Maxw=542&Maxh=352&q=60"><img style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 454px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 352px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://cmsimg.tennessean.com/apps/pbcsi.dll/bilde?NewTbl=1&Site=DN&Date=20091115&Category=SPORTS01&ArtNo=911150805&Ref=PH&Item=32&Maxw=542&Maxh=352&q=60" border="0" /></a><br /><br />Vince Young is now 3-0 as a starter in 2009 for the Titans, and fans are wondering, again, why did it take owner Bud Adams telling Field Goal Fisher to start him before he went with VY? I'm smart enough to know that if I'm looking for somebody who can be a playmaker for the second half of our season, there isn't a better football player who's not in the NFL, at 25 years old, who's ready to play football, is going to play with a chip on his shoulder, and is going to bring some fun and excitement to our team, our locker room, our city, and our league.<br />"And at the same time it's a business decision as well as football decision. From a marketing standpoint, a business standpoint and a football standpoint, I could go to 100 NFL training camps and every preseason game and more people will hear and know about the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the next two weeks -- from the coverage we'll receive -- than in the last 10 years."</div><div></div><div>I have faith in Pacman, if he can find trouble in Morgantown, WV and here in NashVegas I am sure he can find trouble in Winnipeg, it's only a matter of time.</div><div> </div><div>Update: Charles Rogers is also joining the Blue Bombers, good times north of the border.</div>CowboyJoehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01558266960197671168noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5270943406927820957.post-5361975663999286152009-08-25T11:02:00.004-05:002009-08-25T11:10:22.033-05:00She just will not go away<a href="http://images.sympatico.ca/images/Feeds/bang/1250868804300x300.jpg"><img style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 330px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 330px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://images.sympatico.ca/images/Feeds/bang/1250868804300x300.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div>I said it when they first started dating and will continue to believe it until she does something, anything to prove me wrong; Jessica Simpson is one crazy biatch. True, Lord Favre is not Brady or Manning but he is tons better than Vick or Jackson. </div><div>Bottom line...bad signing. </div><div> As I told one of my buddies with unbridled happiness; he's not a Cowboy....burn.</div>CowboyJoehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01558266960197671168noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5270943406927820957.post-88909195592298765152009-08-11T07:18:00.006-05:002009-08-13T07:40:36.915-05:00Titans doing what they can to help VY<a href="http://cmsimg.tennessean.com/apps/pbcsi.dll/bilde?Site=DN&Date=20090811&Category=SPORTS01&ArtNo=908110342&Ref=AR&Profile=1027&MaxW=180&Border=0"><img style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 180px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 224px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://cmsimg.tennessean.com/apps/pbcsi.dll/bilde?Site=DN&Date=20090811&Category=SPORTS01&ArtNo=908110342&Ref=AR&Profile=1027&MaxW=180&Border=0" border="0" /></a><br /><div>Despite the negative reviews from numerous sock puppets of his performance Sunday night, including NBC commentators who think the Titans should release VY at the end of the year, the coaching staff is doing what they can to help. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>They are ignoring comments and headlines like these:</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Nancy Gay of NFLFanhouse; " The verdict on Vince through one outing? Not so hot."</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>ESPN's Paul Kuharsky:"If you don't think quarterback Patrick Ramsey looked better than Vince Young, particularly in the command department, you weren't watching the same game I was."</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Boston Herald:"Kerry Collins outplays Vince Young"</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>And some guy named Mason Lerner who writers for The Faster Times; "A good arm doesn’t guarantee success. But until VY learns that in the NFL quarterbacks win with their arm and not their legs, the only thing he will be using his throwing arm for is carrying a clip board."</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>I could go on but I think the point is made; VY stunk it up and Patrick Ramsey should be given the #2 job. Let's just slow down and catch our breath, it's one pre-season game. Let's also remember two things about Patrick Ramsey; he's a former 1st round pick of the Redskins, he was the supposed to be the guy in DC, instead he was gone after 4 seasons. He spent the next season with the Jets and was with the Broncos. Not exactly a stellar resume, especially when you look at his career stats; 35 TDs, 30 INTs, 78 sacks and a superb passer rating of 74.9...wow.</div><div> </div><div>To help counter the criticism, the coaching staff has done two things; first they talked about the good things VY did on Sunday night and their plans to start him at least once this preseason; and second they are running plays this week that play to VY's strengths as a runner and passer. Jeff Fisher explained it like this; "We have some things that we are going to work on and this is one area where we haven't gotten as much work as we would like." </div><div> </div><div>The guy who was happiest with the new plays was of course VY. "I have been running option since high school. So I am used to that,'' Young said. "I am just a player, when they call plays I go out and execute. … If that is going to help us win ball games, getting me and C.J. out on the corner, on the edge, one-on-one with a DB, I am with it.''</div><div>"It definitely can work, as long as you have 11 guys buying into the scheme,'' Young said.</div><div> </div><div>Hopefully this leads to success for VY. </div><div> </div><div> </div><br /><div></div><br /><div></div><br /><div></div>CowboyJoehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01558266960197671168noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5270943406927820957.post-74518405293423935212009-08-05T19:55:00.004-05:002009-08-09T11:57:38.865-05:00VY is in the Sept issue of Esquire<a href="http://www.esquire.com/cm/esquire/images/HH/vince-young-0909-quarterback-lg.jpg"><img style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 301px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://www.esquire.com/cm/esquire/images/HH/vince-young-0909-quarterback-lg.jpg" border="0" /></a><br />VY has given an interview to Esquire magazine for the September issue. There isn't much earth-shattering information in the story, but it is a nice quick read. He's been through this, too, so he knows. He's teaching me about stocks and investments.<br /></em><br /><em>My girl tries to dress my dog. It was White's best year since he was drafted in the second round out of USC in 2006. </div><br /><div>While this weight loss should be a great thing, the skeptics, like myself, point out that this is a contract year for White and it's an odd coincidence that he has gone on this sudden health kick. The skepticism is further fueld by the fact that White says he lost the weight by giving up tequila. </div><br /><div>"I really got to be honest,” White said. “It wasn’t a lot of major diet changes. (It was) watching what I drink. I was a big Patron consumer. ... That’s what it was. I was drinking a lot, drank a lot of alcohol. I cut that out of my diet all the way. I don’t drink at all. I cut the drinking, I stopped drinking for six months.<br />“It started falling off.” </div><br /><div>Callers on sports talk radio here in NashVegas can't decide if White was serious when he creditted his weight loss with giving up tequila. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Listen up people, I'm as critical and cynical as anyone, but this is my feeling about White and his new diet regime; who gives a rat's a-- why or how he lost the weight. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Will it make him a better player? </div><br /><div>It sure should, with less weight he should stay stronger longer into games and should be able to really wear defenses out in the 3rd and 4th quarters. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Will it make the Titans better? </div><br /><div>Again it should, with him and Chris Johnson, the Titans have an excellent combo of backs to give opponents all kinds of trouble. Johnson has shown that he can gash a defense and score from anywhere on the field while White continues to pound away.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>And finally to all the Titans fans who want to get upset about White getting and taking the money at the end of the year and leaving the Titans, you cannot be serious. If you or anyone else had the chance to get the big payday you get it, loyalty be damned.</div>CowboyJoehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01558266960197671168noreply@blogger.com13tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5270943406927820957.post-52874990331958283632009-07-28T20:23:00.002-05:002009-07-28T20:25:25.722-05:00Please mean it.<a href="http://i2.cdn.turner.com/si/2009/writers/don_banks/07/28/favre/p1.favre1.jpg"><img style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 298px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 399px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://i2.cdn.turner.com/si/2009/writers/don_banks/07/28/favre/p1.favre1.jpg" border="0" /></a> Lord Favre says that he's staying retired for good.<br />I will now speak for the millions who are tired of this saga...please mean it.<br /><div></div>CowboyJoehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01558266960197671168noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5270943406927820957.post-26736242088610849402009-07-13T14:35:00.004-05:002009-07-14T11:16:16.255-05:00Tony and Jessica split...maybe, hopefully<a href="http://img2.timeinc.net/people/i/2009/news/090727/jessica-simpson-320.jpg"><img style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://img2.timeinc.net/people/i/2009/news/090727/jessica-simpson-320.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div>According to People magazine, Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson have split up. Details have come fast and furious since his death was first reported. </div><br /><div>The strangest detail is this; </div><div>At approximately 2 a.m. Saturday morning, McNair was celebrating the holiday weekend at the Blue Moon Restaurant near the John C. A white woman in her early 20s, around 5-foot-4, approached McNair at the restaurant and accused him of slipping her a “roofie” a year ago. </div><br /><br /><div>The woman then told McNair, according to sources, that her boyfriend was going to kill him. It appears that this boyfriend did not kill McNair but it's still a morbid coincidence.</div><br /><br /><div></div><br /><div>To me, McNair was the Titan that I had more respect for than any other player, he was everything VY isn't; tough, discplined(unlike VY he actually watched tape), a pro. McNair also became a better passer as he got older, he gave up running around all the time, it was just getting him hurt. As Tom Curran of NBC Sports points out; "He was the first black quarterback that a team built itself around and tethered its fortunes to from Day 1. It probably isn’t a coincidence that, once it became clear McNair was the real deal, quarterbacks like Donovan McNabb, Akili Smith, Michael Vick and Vince Young were suddenly top five selections. His restaurant called; Gridiron9, is up and running at 2719E Jefferson Street in Nashville.<br /><br />The former Tennessee Titans quarterback opened the eatery specializing in grilled menu items, on Friday, June 19.<br /><br />Locating the first Gridiron9 near Tennessee State University is by design, he said. The quarterback wanted to offer “good … healthy food,’’ and would be affordable to typical college students, McNair said.<br /><br />Several current Titans have dropped by to sample the menu as well. Vince Young, Keith Bulluck and Jevon Kearse were all in Gridiron9 Monday afternoon. Thankfully VY kept his mouth shut, wouldn't want the media to twist anything.<br /><br />I'm happy to see #9 doing things to stay in the Nashville community, he has said numerous times how much he appreciates what the people of Nashville did for him when he was a Titan. Are you kidding #9 what we did for you? <br />What about you?<br />We can never repay him for what he brought to us fans on Sundays. He was tough, he played hurt and he never, ever blamed anyone when things went wrong. Good to see you hanging around our city.CowboyJoehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01558266960197671168noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5270943406927820957.post-20351572516143089942009-06-17T19:23:00.004-05:002009-06-18T21:00:22.031-05:00VY talks to the local media<a href="http://cmsimg.tennessean.com/apps/pbcsi.dll/bilde?Site=DN&Date=20090617&Category=SPORTS01&ArtNo=90617053&Ref=AR&Profile=1027&MaxW=550&MaxH=650&title=0"><img style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 358px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://cmsimg.tennessean.com/apps/pbcsi.dll/bilde?Site=DN&Date=20090617&Category=SPORTS01&ArtNo=90617053&Ref=AR&Profile=1027&MaxW=550&MaxH=650&title=0" border="0" /></a> Vince Young talked to the Nashville media after Titans practice, something that he has done precious little of during his time as a Titan. He does not trust the local media, he believes they blow everything out of proportion and they do not print articles that are "friendly" to him and/or his point of view. He has no trouble talking to <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">tv</span> stations or media people from any city except <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">NashVegas</span>.<br />Today he spoke, again, about what happened during the Jacksonville game last September and the strange September night when police were called because his mother felt he was suicidal.<br /><br />From the Tennessean:<br /><em><span style="font-family:times new roman;font-size:130%;">" Wednesday, Young was back on the practice field at Baptist </span></em><a class="iAs" style="PADDING-RIGHT: 0px; PADDING-LEFT: 0px; FONT-WEIGHT: normal! important; FONT-SIZE: 100%! important; BACKGROUND-IMAGE: none; PADDING-BOTTOM: 1px! important; COLOR: darkgreen! important; PADDING-TOP: 0px; BORDER-BOTTOM: darkgreen 0.07em solid; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent! important; TEXT-DECORATION: underline! important" href="http://www.tennessean.com/article/20090617/SPORTS01/90617053/Vince+Young+says+he+needed+to+vent#" target="_blank" itxtdid="9612133"><em><span style="font-family:times new roman;font-size:130%;">Sports</span></em></a><em><span style="font-family:times new roman;font-size:130%;"> Park as the team’s June <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">minicamp</span> continued. Afterward he volunteered to speak with local reporters and calmly explained his change of heart.“I really needed to get (things) off my chest and get it out of the way, because everybody has their opinions of the situation,’’ Young said. “Every time I say something it is always going to get … blown out of proportion so I just have to live with it. That is the life of Vince and I just have to live with it.’’<br /><br />Young was defensive last season when asked about things like his demotion and whether he had quit on his teammates by initially refusing to re-enter the opener after being booed. Wednesday a much more collected Young said he’s learned a lot since then.“I know how to handle it now. I never regret anything that happened in the past because it taught me how to get more mature,” Young said. “I can’t feed into what the fans think … I never thought about quitting. I just have to worry about being a leader for my teammates. I can’t worry about the fans and how they feel about me any more. I just have to play my ball right now.’’</span></em><br /><em><span style="font-family:times new roman;font-size:130%;"></span></em><br /><em><span style="font-family:times new roman;font-size:130%;">"Some people might think he should deal with stuff in different ways, but Vince is my friend, and I support him. I know what he can do,” Hall said. “People still look at Vince as a leader. If Kerry goes down we are going to look to Vince to lead this offense, so people will look to him as a leader and expect him to lead this team.’’</span></em><br /><em><span style="font-family:times new roman;font-size:130%;"></span></em><br /><em><span style="font-family:times new roman;font-size:130%;">Young is looking forward. He said he wants to stay with the Titans and put the past — including those boos that sent him spiraling — in the past.“I give 100 percent to this team, to the fans and this organization and to this community, and how they felt about me at the time, that hurt me a whole lot, because that’s the type of guy that I am,” he said. “When I dedicate myself to something, I’m dedicated to it to the fullest, and when the fans (booed), it kind of hurt me a whole lot.“But now, I’m over that and more mature, more older now. I've got a lot of people in my ear helping me get through this process, to get back to the top where I need to be.''</span></em><br /><em><span style="font-family:Times New Roman;font-size:130%;"></span></em><br /><span style="font-family:georgia;">Young said just a few weeks ago that he was just going to shut his mouth and play, let his performance speak for itself, I really wish he would do that. He can be a great player but saying stuff like this only gives critics more ammo about him. He seems to feel that the media are bringing up stuff from last season but he's <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">conveniently</span> forgetting that he did the interview with the Baltimore <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">tv</span> station and he was more than happy to rehash the entire affair with ESPN. </span><br /><span style="font-family:georgia;"></span><br /><span style="font-family:georgia;">He is taking a bit of a beating in on talk radio and on several Titans blogs but compared to other cities, he's getting the kid gloves.</span><br /><br />Time to quit the talk and walk the walk <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5">VY</span>CowboyJoehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01558266960197671168noreply@blogger.com0
