Ted Johnson needs to go after Gene Upshaw not Belichick

This is not because of his injuries, he deserves every penny he can get from the NFL because of his concussions. He deserves no sympathy because he wants to blame Bill Belichick for his injuries saying the Belichick made him practice when he was hurt. Boo Hoo. Find me a player who doesn't practice, play and retire hurt, there aren't any. When Johnson decided to pursue pro football he knew the risks and he also knew that he was sacrificing his body. To now try to blame Belichick is just wrong, maybe Belichick did threaten to get rid of him if he didn't give 100% but that's what he's supposed to do, he's not there to make sure you get to sit if you're achy and then let you back on the field. Johnson knew that Belichick is not a "players coach", he is not worried about being a players friend, he wants to win and he does.
Johnson deserves what every player does, security after their playing days are over and decent health the rest of his life. If he doesn't get those things then he needs to take it up with the NFL not with the Pats. I'm no fan of Belichick, he has the personality of a rock and believes that everyone else is beneath him and not deserving of his attention, but he did what a coach is supposed to do, get the most out of every player and win games. I wish Johnson well in his quest to get better benefits for himself and other retired players but he has to go after Gene Upshaw. Upshaw has shown precious little regard for players physical or economic health. Once players realize that getting rid of Upshaw is in their best interest, he will be gone like yesterday's breakfast. The sooner the better for the health and well-being of every NFL player.
