The Titans opened training camp on Friday. Things have been calm with some walk-throughs and position drills, then Tuesday they went 11 on 11 with full pads and things finally got interesting. The defense once again pushed the offense around and VY looked like his old self; a few passes close to the intended receiver and some, well let's just say he's not going to be mistaken for Peyton or Brady any time soon. He is showing the same inconsistency and inaccuracy that he did when Norm Chow was his OC and that got Chow fired. If it keeps up does it get Dinger fired too or do the Titans conclude that VY was another great running college QB who couldn't cut it in the NFL. We'll see in a couple of years.
According to the Tennessean:
The Titans put on full pads for the first time in training camp on Tuesday, and to no one's surprise the intensity quickly heated up and overflowed.
Defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch and guard Eugene Amano scrapped twice. One bout ended with Vanden Bosch knocking Amano's helmet off. Linebacker Stephen Tulloch, the biggest hitter in camp so far, didn't miss a chance to get into the fray. He launched himself into tight end Casey Cramer, creating another stir.Coach Jeff Fisher stepped in and told everyone to tone it down.“As you build toughness there's a fine line as to how you go about doing it,” Fisher said. “There also is a fine line as far as protecting each other, but (the players) understand it.”Vanden Bosch and Amano said they’re cool with each other.“Fights are stupid. They happen on the practice field and you have to know you can't carry that kind of stuff over to a game. Things like that can hurt your team,” Vanden Bosch said. “Everybody has a lot of pride out there on the practice field, nobody wants to give an inch. ... We just have to learn how to practice with each other. The first day of full pads no one wants to back down from anybody. It happens every year.’’
