This is the rumor that started all this, it was on a Titans fan blog, GoTitansGo, user WhatAboutGump:
"Ok, it's currently unofficial, but I just heard from a very reliable source that Vince Young beat up his manager and/or agent, took his gun and barricaded himself in the Baptist Sports Complex (TN Titans practice facility) and was shooting at Metro police. Just happened within the last hour, according to my source. The command was called off just moments ago, which apparently means VY gave up, was subdued, or is dead.""
"the guy is my x brother in law, he's a cop down there, he's off duty and listening to his radio."
"If so, then I would like a tool.. and will apologize in advance, this is why I put it here in the rumor mill. I am not claiming any of this as fact, only that my x bro in law called me up with a "You'll never going to believe this" and he wasn't laughing at all."
According to WKRN-TV in Nashville, Field Goal Fisher became concerned about the well-being of his starting QB late Monday night. A frined of Young's was concerned because Young left his home abruptly at 7:30 p.m. and because Young seemed “emotionally down” and left his cell phone behind. Young also had an unloaded handgun in the glove box of his vehicle. Young was eventually found at Baptist Sports Park at around 12:30 am. He probably wasn't watching game film or getting treatment for his injured knee or his tweaked hamstring, just what was going on is completely open to debate but Fisher calling it a misunderstanding is a feeble attempt at spin-doctoring. Unnamed sources told WKRN that concerns about Young’s state of mind were unfounded.
Even if that’s true, the mere fact that Fisher developed such concerns about Young strongly suggests that some serious stuff has been happening behind the scenes in Tennessee, and that Sunday’s sideline incident very well could be the beginning of the end of Young’s career with the Titans, and possibly with any other NFL team. NFL locker rooms will tolerate lots of bad behavior but they will not tolerate players who quit on their teams. It looks more and more likely that when VY said he has thought about retiring after last season that he was as serious as a heart attack. I've been a vocal critic of his but I really hope that he can get through this, whatever this is and that the Titans will help him more than they helped Pacman Jones.
The photos are from Baptist Sports Park and show VY, Nashville Police and Field Goal Fisher.
The recap from WKRN.com:
"Concerns about the well-being of Titans quarterback Vince Young prompted an early morning meeting at Titans headquarters.
Metro police officers and Tennessee Titans Coach Jeff Fisher gathered at Baptist Sports Park around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday to meet with Vince Young after trying to locate him.According to sources, questions about Young's state of mind began when the quarter back left his home abruptly at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
According to those same sources, Young seemed emotionally down and left his cell phone behind.
Titans officials alerted Metro police to be on the lookout for Young's SUV. Sources tell News 2 that Coach Fisher eventually made contact with Young and told him to meet at Baptist Sports Park. After Coach Fisher spoke with Young, sources say it seemed concerns about Young's state of mind were unfounded.
News 2 spoke with Jeff Fisher off camera as he was leaving the complex.
He would not confirm any details regarding the search for Vince Young. He did tell us that Young is now doing fine and drove himself home from the complex.
Coach Fisher described it all as a misunderstanding."

From the Tennessean:
Metro Police issued a bulletin for officers to be on the lookout for Titans quarterback Vince Young on Monday night after Coach Jeff Fisher expressed concern about his emotional well being.
According to Metro Police spokesman Don Aaron, Fisher had been alerted after a friend of Young’s contacted the coach around 7 p.m. Monday night. Young eventually made contact with Fisher, and the two met around midnight with Metro police officials at Baptist Sports Park. Given the totality of the situation, Coach Fisher was concerned about Young’s emotional well-being. He contacted the police department and expressed to us his concern,’’ Aaron said.“Once he came to Baptist Sports Park and was assessed, it appeared the concerns from earlier in the night were unfounded.’’ According to police, Young left his home abruptly Monday night and sped off without his cell phone. A person at Young’s home contacted Fisher, who then contacted police. After Young eventually made contact with Fisher several hours later, he was told he needed to meet with police.Young had a handgun in the glove compartment of his vehicle, but it was not loaded and Aaron said officers had no concerns about Young trying to harm himself.“The fact the gun was in the glove compartment and was unloaded did not present an issue for the officers,’’ Aaron said. “There was no ammunition in the car. The gun was unloaded. The slide was back in a safe position, and it was in the glove box.’’Fisher could not immediately be reached for comment

ALRIGHT, now i just feel bad for this guy. everything he does is being picked apart
I do too, it's one thing to be down on a guy because he's not playing well but this is different, this sounds and looks like it might head south in a hurry.
When you leave your house and a friend of yours is worried about you, things are getting serious. I don't know what was going on, there are rumors galore here, but I doubt it was some sort of misunderstanding.
The handgun in the glove box won't help things, even if it was unloaded.
well keep us posted cowboy. maybe if the media & his "friends" left him alone shit would calm down for him & he might actually seek out, whatever he needs to do , to feel better. it's only 4 weeks i heard he's going to be out, so what gives?
Here's more to it there were two police negotiators at Baptist Sports Park.
When was the last time one of your friends was so worried about you and your mental state that they called the cops, your boss and recommended police negotiators?
This story is getting really crazy, it's hard to work with this going on.
It's now front page on ESPN.com, FoxSports.com, SI.com
i proofed it for paul, i saw that. WTF
i can honestly say it's never happened to me, i've never felt at the end persay.
as for Young, he needs intervention NOW not later. lets hope he gets the help he needs & not an ass load of bullshit from the stupid people crowd.
Look at the rumor that started all of this. Bizarre
maybe just maybe, the media is taking this & runnin it into the ground.
an unloaded handgun, does not suicidal make.
if they are concerned enough to go through all these hoops, then they need to step up & talk to the man, not let it get as far out as it has & bring some closure to it.
