I know CK thinks that Eagles coach Andy Reid has the award sewn up but I think one Plaxico Burress deserves serious consideration.
He's not getting the nomination just because he shot himself, no Plax has been in the running for this before he went Barney Fife.
He got and signed his new big money contract earlier in the season $35 million over 5 years, thanks Drew Rosenhaus, then proceeded to do most anytihing but what his coaches and teammates expected of their former #1 WR. Before he was finally suspended and fined before the Oct 9th Seahawks game, , Burress had been fined by the team between 40 and 50 times, a stunning number considering he's played just 50 games with the Big Blue.
"He's been fined for missing treatment, meetings, showing up late ... there's probably been 10 times this year alone," said one source. According to some, sitting out the Seattle game bothered Burress but that's not what Burress had to say about it when asked; "I didn't lose any sleep over it. I got me some rest. I was able to get away for a little while, chill out and relax. Things like that happen." He also added that his absence from the meetings was due to issues around taking his son to school, "Maybe I would have put a phone call in, but as far as things like that, I'm always going to put [things like his son] first. That's one thing people have to understand. I don't have any regrets over it."

For the next few weeks Burress seemed to keep himself in line, his mouth shut and he played like the guy who was earning his money. He got hurt in the Cardinals and was going to be sidelined a couple of weeks or more with a hamstring injury.
Then he shot himself.
According to reports, while partying at the Latin Quarter nightclub in Manhattan with Giants linebacker Antonio Pierce and perhaps one other member of the team, Burress accidentally shoots himself in the right thigh. Reports indicate that Burress, who was drinking, was attempting to unload his handgun in a secure area of the club after being confronted by security personnel about the weapon. Burress refuses an attempt by nightclub personnel to call an ambulance. Instead, Burress is driven to Cornell Medical Center by a friend, where an examination reveals that the .40 caliber bullet went through skin and muscle tissue but did not strike an artery or bone. Burress is released early Saturday afternoon.
Burress' reaction to all this:
He laughed.
"He called me laughing and grinning," fellow New York Giant Brandon Jacobs told reporters. "He is doing fine. He is feeling good. I called him and made a few jokes about the situation and he laughed - which is what I wanted to hear.
"He shouldn't be down because it is a mistake that happened," said the running back.

He laughed? He's facing felony charges and loss of millions of dollars because he was afraid someone would rob him of all the bling he was wearing on Friday night.
At least he picked the right attorney, Benjamin Brafman, who has represented Sean Combs and Michael Jackson. His attorney had this to say about media reports; ""I think a lot of what's been in the press is not accurate," Brafman said. "But I think we'll sort that out in court." "I stopped trying to predict outcomes. My hope is it plays out well and he can continue his career because he's a good person with a brilliant athletic career and it would be a terrible sadness if an isolated incident could ruin a life."
As for Burress' injury, Brafman continues to describe it as minor. "If they let him play, he will be able to play," Brafman said. "And I think he will be a superstar for the rest of his career."

If he is a superstar, it won't be with the Giants, they are D-O-N-E with Plax.
