This New Year's Day I'll be doing the same thing I was last year, nursing a hangover and watching outdoor NHL hockey. Last year it was the Sabres and Penguins from Buffalo. If you didn't watch last year you missed two good hockey teams playing in a snowstorm. No mid-level bowl games pitting two 7-5 teams that are there because they scheduled well, no parades, hockey first.
This year I'll be watching the Red Wings take on the Blackhawks from Wrigley Field. I'm hoping for snow again.
