Welcome to 8-8 Cowboys fans

The Cowboys again performed the way they often have under Wade Phillips, excellent when things are going well and there is no pressure on them. Then when they needed a few first downs to close out the game what did they do: nothing.

In the 4th quarter the Cowboys gained a total of 31 yards and 1 first down. They went 6 plays for 15 yards and a punt, then the offense really got rolling, going 4 for 4 yards, 2 for 2 yards and a pick six then 5 plays for 10 yards and gave the Steelers the ball on downs with 51 seconds left.

The Cowboys are now 8-5 and with the remaining schedule it's easy to see them not winning another game this season. They have been terrible in December since 1997, going 18-32. While Tony Romo is an impressive 22-4 as a starter in Sept-Nov he's a stellar 4-6 in December. Not good.

Their three remaining opponents all have winning records and all have a chance to get into the playoffs. The schedule starts with the Giants coming to Dallas on Sunday night. The Giants are in a lousy mood after losing to the Eagles 20-14 and will be out to prove something to the Cowboys, again. The have already beaten the Cowboys 35-14 and have clinched the division but with Coughlin riding them all week, they'll be ready to play Sunday Night.

The Cowboys will likely be 8-6 after the Giants game and then they get the Ravens in Baltimore on Saturday Dec 20th. The best chance the Cowboys have is that Baltimore is a little beat up after playing the Steelers, but with Baltimore playing the way they are right now, they are too physical and too smart to lose to the Boys.

They close out the season at Philly, who would like nothing more to than to ensure the Cowboys enjoy another off-season of misery and second-guessing why the team many think has the most talent in the NFC, maybe even the league is only .500.

I'm trying to find one of Coach Cupcake in his big blue wrapper but so far nada.
If anyone still thinks Jason Garrett is ready to be a head coach, watch the 4th quarter, pitiful play-calling and worse execution. Ugh!!!! have to stop; too maddening.

He is a great Defensive Coordinator but this is his 3rd tour of duty as the head coach and it's probably going to be his last.
As much as I'm unhappy with how the season has turned out so far, I feel bad for Phillips because he's going to take the bullet. Jason Garrett hasn't done a great even good job callng plays and before Phillips took over the defense it was playing terrible.
