Gus Frerotte isn't happy with Brad Childress and he isn't the only one

Gus Frerotte and fellow Vikings teammates have a few things to say about Brad Childress after the Vikings loss to the Eagles. As anyone can guess it's not, "I think we did everything we could to beat the Eagles, they were just the better team today".

Nope it's much more interesting than that.

Frerotte told Yahoo! Sports' Michael Silver; "I just don’t know what to think right now,” he said Sunday night. “It was a very frustrating experience, because I felt like I should’ve been the one playing. That might sound selfish, but I think I would’ve given us the best chance to win. I’m going home to St. Louis [on Monday] to be with my family and figure out where things stand, but the way things played out at the end really makes me question things." Or I think coach didn't have one damn idea what to do at the end fo the game and was too chicken to pull his chosen one Tarvaris Jackson. Frerotte wasn't the only one who was questioning just what the hell was going on late in the game. Unnaed sources also had these supportive words for the coaching staff and QB Jackson.

About Jackson: as another Vikings player later told me, had a “deer-in-headlights” look about him during his long afternoon

About Childress: Childress, the Eagles’ offensive coordinator before taking the Minnesota job at the end of the ‘05 season, got totally schooled by Philly defensive coordinator Jim Johnson, who made it look, said one Viking, “as though we were one play behind all day.”

And one described the sideline late in the game; “our sideline was in total disarray.”

Brad Childress was regarded as an excellent offensive coordinator during his time with the Eagles. Also during that time many wondered why he didn't get a head-coaching gig before landing the Vikings job. He interviewed for several but was passed over each time until being hired by the Vikings in 2006 after the Mike Tice experiment. Viking fans were happy with the choice, they thought they were getting the next Andy Reid, a guy who could run the West Coast offense and develop a QB, instead they got the master of the prevent offense.

The Vikings record has improved in each of Childress' three seasons in Minnesota from 6-10 to 8-8 and finally to 10-6 this season and an NFC Central title. He's not going anywhere in the next year or even couple of years, but it does look like a few players might be.

andy doesn't run a true west coast offense, anyone schooled in football would know that.

Really should be careful what is said about a coach.
Esp if they are still the coach

Good points CK and MOM.
If Frerotte said this right after the game most coaches will talk to the player privately and mention to them the fact that if you have a problem with how I do my job talk to me first.
Childress is not most coaches.
I think Childress will have some public comments about Frerotte like he has about other players who have disagreed with him. This is a pretty good sign that Frerotte wants out, if he wanted to stay he would have either kept his mouth shut or been an unnamed source.

I doubt it CK, the Eagles will do anything like that they usually handle things pretty well. They might actually give the Giants credit if they win the game and vice versa. We aren't talking about the Cowboys here, not yet anyway, we'll get there. :0

gussy is washed up anyway, tis why he was benched!! T didn't play that bad at all against the eagles, for being a back up, turned starter!

T was the starter when the season started, he was starting again because Frerotte got hurt and Childress had a "gut feeling" he should go with T for the playoffs. Although I would have a hard time deciding which guy to play, they have both sucked some serious a$$ this season.
