McNair to hold Ravens rally in Nashville

The Nashville media has been all over this one since it was announced. And not in the Steve McNair is a great guy kind of way but in a Steve McNair is a traitor kind of way.
And that is just plain wrong for a couple of reasons.

First why would McNair wnat to to do anything for the Titans after the way he was treated at the end of his time in Tennessee. This was the guy who carried this team on his back more than once, who played hurt every season of his career. He didn't get dinged up, he had things like a bruised sternum, bad ribs, a hurt shoulder.

It's also wrong because he holding the event for one of the best charities around; the Ronald McDonald House of Baltimore.

"This is a charity event I'm doing for the Ronald McDonald House in Baltimore and that's it," he said. "It doesn't have anything to do with the Ravens or the Titans. I'm gonna be there because I'm not gonna disappoint these kids."
"People want to say it's about the Ravens, it's not about the Ravens. It's not about Tennessee. It's about these kids from the Ronald McDonald House and I can put a smile on their face," he told News 2. "It this taints my image I'm going to be very disappointed because that'll tell me that people [do not] care about me raising money to help kids. That's selfish."

Here's an interesting tidbit, the club where he's holding the rally is a club where Pacman was arrested for getting into a fight with the former owner Robert "Big Daddy" Gaddy, who played for the Nashville Kats arena league team. Pacman destroyed some of the guys jewelery and tore up some of his clothes during the fight. The reason for the fight: Pacman wouldn't pay his bar tab and a couple members of his entourage wouldn't stop smoking weed in the club.

It's one of the best, my brother and sister-in-law had to stay in one for over 6 weeks because their daughter was premature. They lived almost two hours from the It was a godsend for them and is for everyone who has to stay there.

Like the Pacman connection?

i hope to god i never have to find out cowboy :(

a kid that is a year younger then my kiddo, had a stroke after his soccer game, he was in the ronald mcdonald house with his parents for almost a year. he's going back to middle school now, on a modified schedule. it's heartbreaking, a stroke at the age of 13.

i'm glad steve is doing this & he's right it ain't about the game, it's for the kids!

A stroke at 13 or 14 is pretty damn scary.

i'm sure it was, his poor parents & then the dad got laid off. we had fundraisers etc...at the schools, local grocery. he's doing much better though. something with his blood vessels' i really don't understand the whole thing.....but he needs surgery now to make sure it doesn't happen again.

he had younger siblings too, that go to elementary school, the mom wrote how fast they were growing up, since the parent's were with the older son, they would make their own breakfast & such.....very very heart wrenching, BUT in good spirits it was meant!!

It's amazing that those kids were doing things that some adults can't do, take care of themselves. Sad that they had to but they are ahead of so many people in the maturity category.

well they had relatives around etc.. but the next to youngest boy would make sure his little sister had her breakfast & lunch packed before school!

AMAZING & heart wrenching all in one!!
