Florida State safety Myron Rolle has decided to attend Oxford for his Rhodes Scholarship instead of entering the NFL draft. Rolle will head to England for a one-year master’s degree in medical anthropology. He said he would enter the 2010 draft.
Rolle was given a special exemption by the NCAA to fly back from his final interview in Birmingham in order to make the second half of the Florida State-Maryland game on November 22. Rolle completed the interview, then found out he had received the scholarship. He received a police escort to a local airport and a private plane took him to the game, which he entered late in the second quarter. The Seminoles won, 37-3.
In addition to playing major college football at a high level, Rolle completed his undergraduate pre-med degree in 2 and a half years with a GPA of 3.75.
Rolle said he plans to use his degrees to open low-cost clinics in the Bahamas and around the world.
A truly great story.

I think it's great that he's going to Oxford...This kid really seems to get it...He is the definition of STUDENT-Athlete.
Damn right, you could a couple of my semesters together and not get a 3.75, much less in pre-med.
Even 2010 he'll be the same age as seniors coming out, someone will take a chance on him and get a good player pretty cheap.
