So why is Vinny in the NFL but not Jeff George

The Carolina Panthers signed Vinny Testaverde the other day because Jake Delhomme is done for the season with elbow surgery. That has to be the smartest thing Delhomme has done in 2-3 seasons. Back to the topic...Because David Carr does not scare anyone, the Panthers decided that they needed a QB to back him up in case Carr gets hurt or he just plain sucks like he has for the past 5 years. Now just how in the hell does an old, immobile and not too bright guy still get work in the NFL, just who does he have pictures of to keep coming back like a bad cough. The Panthers could have picked up Akili Smith, he was just cut in Canada, Kordell Stewart is available and he can play some receiver which would certainly help the terrible Panther offense. Tommy Maddox, he's younger and probably can still move a little in the pocket. And finally Jeff George, he still has the great arm and hasn't gotten hit much, because he's usually doing a great job keeping the ballcap on and the clipboard handy. I just don't get it, I know that Jeff George is a complete d--k but so are a lot of guys who can play, maybe the Panthers are hoping if Vinny gets into the hall he'll wear a Panthers jersey.
