A prayer service for VY, puhleaz

This is the kind of thing that has people in other parts of the country laughing their asses off at Southerners; a prayer service for Vince Young.

That's right, a prayer service/rally for a 25 year old multimillionaire. Not for someone who lost several family members to a housefire or to an act of random violence but a football player. Not for the families of fallen veterans, or police officers or firefighters but a 25 year-old multimillionaire who plays professional football.

A prayer rally for a player who refused to go do his job on Sunday because his job was getting too tough for him, a guy who had to have his boss, head coach Jeff Fisher, find him and tell him to go back to work.
A player who says everything has been blown way out of proportion and it's the media's fault.

Of course it is, they made up the footage of him sitting on the bench ignoring efforts by teammates and assistant coaches to engage in conversation. Young did explain the situation saying: There was a TV timeout. He didn't feel any sense of urgency. What's the big deal?
"I had to clear my head," he said.

A guy who, despite what his coach has said, feels he can just ignore the mess he's created and act like nothing ever happened, that he has nothing to prove to anyone.
Asked if he thought he would have to earn his position, Young said: "I doubt it. They drafted me to be the quarterback."
If anyone wants to attend the prayer service for poor ridiculed and persecuted VY, here are the particulars;
Earl Jordan with the group Partners in the Struggle is organizing a prayer rally for Young Friday night.
The rally will be held in Metro Center, on the corner of Rosa Parks Boulevard and Mainstream Drive.

This will sound very harsh.
I think VY represents a generation of people who believe that they should never be criticized/questioned and if they are it's not their fault. And they should be praised and rewarded for doing the minimum.
That or I'm becoming an old man and next thing I know I'll be shooing kids off my yard with an air rifle

i NEVER think u sound harsh, or i wouldn't even bother with ya & u know that ;0

he needs help, that much is obvious, they make meds & shit for that kinda behavoir, not that it's any excuse but hey, if it works, take it & play ball again like u r supposed to.

We do, mine goes from concern for him to "Come on VY wake the f--k up, this isn't UT anymore, you have to take your job seriously."
Read the blog I just put out about it, it's comments from Jason Whitlock and as always he nails it. He has great things to say about VY and DMac and the differences between them.
