Vince Young has finally decided that it's okay to talk to the media. I have criticized him for his completely wacked behavior but I have to give hime credit, he talked to the media today and did so without a prepared statement. This is what VY had to say:
From the Tennessean: (I give them credit, they wrote it, I just found it and put it out there.)
"I’m fine. I’m good,’’ Young said Thursday. “I just needed (time) … to get through some things. But now I am OK. I was never depressed; I just hurt a little bit. … When it happens again I’ll know how to handle it.’’Young spoke to the media for the first time since late last week. In a little more than 15 minutes he did his best to clear the air about a series of events that started in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s season opener at LP Field and continued late into Monday night when police got involved. He said he never refused to go back in, but admitted he was bothered by boos from the home crowd after throwing his second interception of the game.Young said he was down in the hours that followed but everyone overreacted, including his concerned mother. He stressed that his fire to play football is still burning strong.“It is a blessing to play the game that I love, and I am having a good time playing it,’’ Young said. “Sometimes it is not that I am getting down on myself, I am just a tremendous competitor and I like to see smiles on my teammates’ faces and coaches’ faces and my family and fans’ faces.“I just want everyone to know I am fine. Everything is all right. I’m cool.’’
They drafted me to be the quarterback of the organization and that is what they want me to do,’’ he said. “This organization is behind me. My teammates are behind me. … I am just ready to get back with them on the football field.’’
Young watched practice for the second straight day and seemed much more upbeat than Wednesday. The Titans felt it was important for Young to address recent events in hopes it would cancel the soap opera.“The team is focused on Cincinnati,’’ Fisher said. “We are going to take the necessary steps to get Vince back in the swing of things and we felt like it would be important for him to answer your questions.’’
Young said he wasn’t happy after throwing two interceptions and his knee was bothering him. He left his Brentwood home in a hurry, he said, because so many people were stopping by to express concern and provide encouragement he didn’t necessarily need. His mom was concerned, however. That led to Fisher being called and eventually police. The night ended with Young, Fisher and police meeting around midnight at the team facility.“I understand where my momma was coming from. … Coach Fisher had some concerns, and that is why he did what he did,’’ Young said. “I just needed my space just to think and to let the cloud go over for a minute. … It was my first time getting an injury like this … and to not get to play hurts a whole lot.’’As for what happened on the sideline Sunday before his injury, Young said his hamstring was bothering him.“It’s not that I didn’t want to come back into the game,’’ he said. “It was a TV timeout and I had some time to clear my head before I stepped back on that football field … and I was frustrated. … I can’t do anything about what the media thinks and says. I know what happened on the sideline."It probably wasn’t as fast as you wanted it to be, but I am going to take my time to clear my head before I step on that football field.’’

"It probably wasn’t as fast as you wanted it to be, but I am going to take my time to clear my head before I step on that football field.’’
HA!!! good for him for lettin em know, what the deal is.....now the stupid ppl. can STFU
His teammates say they are behind him, which I'm not surprised at, he is a winning QB.
We'll see how he reacts when things don't go well again, that'll be the true test.
it's always a true test of one's character in the end. i'm glad there are alot of people coming forward & offering him help etc..he has issue's no doubt, but some of them just might be brought on by the fact that he feels he's not good enough at his job, specially when he gets shit outta luck with some bum wraps that have come his way.
did i just make sense?
And some are piping up just to make the paper or be on the news, not out of any real concern for him.
OUCH!!!!
