Vince Young helps out Ike victims

Vince Young isn't starting at QB for the Titans but he's not just sitting around wasting time. Young has been busy helping out victims of Hurricane Ike in Texas. Young, through his foundation, was involved in two projects in Galveston and Houston on Saturday, and has more things planned for the coming weeks in his home state.

From the Tennessean:
On Saturday, Vince Young Foods Co., in partnership with Kroger, provided food and water to the volunteer workers in Galveston. In Houston, Young partnered with Fiesta Groceries to give more than $3,000 in gift cards to families affected by the hurricane.
Young, who is from Houston, plans to return to the area soon and plans to make a bigger donation at that time, said his marketing agent, Mike Mu.
No one in Young's immediate family was hurt in the hurricane, but much of his family remains without electricity.
"Vince is devastated by what happened down there,'' Mu said. "That's his home and he wants to help all those people in Texas.''
Pledges can be made to the Vince Young Foundation, 2020 Fieldstone Parkway, Suite 900-181, Franklin, TN, 37069. Anyone who makes a $100 donation to the Vince Young Foundation Hurricane Ike Relief Fund will get an autographed photo of Young. Those who make a $250 donation will receive an autographed football.
Fans can make donations online starting Monday at

Finally, a story about Young that didn't involve him melting down, him hating the boos or his desire to play.

He'll have time to do good deeds like this because he won't start again this season unless Collins gets hurt. The time off will be good for him.
Young has never shied away from trying to help and giving his time and money to the community. It's one of the thing many people, myself included, forgot about him.
