Ricky prefers Canadian football fans

Ricky Williams has very fond memories of Canadian football fans and of Canada in general. In an interview with Edgar Thompson of the Palm Beach Post Williams had several intersting comments.
First about Canadan football fans:
“I know that each town that we went to, including the hometown fans, when you go to a game the people there are true fans,” Williams said today, speaking during a conference call with media from Buffalo and Toronto. “Sometimes, especially in Miami, you get people coming only when you’re winning.
“Going to places like Hamilton or Regina, Calgary, there are really, really huge football fans there. So it was a lot of fun being in that type of environment week in and week out.”
Williams also talked about returning to Canada one day and his reasons for wanting to do so:
“If I had the opportunity and it worked well for my family and myself I would definitely jump at the opportunity,” Williams said.
Asked what he’d be doing, Williams said, “Playing, coaching, wherever I am in my career and whatever I feel like doing.”
"In America I think people sometimes you’re frowned at when you try to be an individual and be yourself,” Williams said. “From my experience, that’s something that’s appreciated in Canada.
“Obviously I’m not going to fit in everywhere I go so I really enjoyed it up there for that reason.”
Ricky isn't for everyone, some are turned off by his attitude, by his pot-smoking and by his some of his antics early in his career. Whatever people feel about him one thing is certain, Ricky is going to do his own thing and will live with the consequences. It's something that guys like Plaxico, Pacman and TO could also learn.

It sounds like he liked the lifestyle there better too. I'm sure he was much more anonymous in Canada than he was/is here and that's something most people can appreciate.
