In the Tennessean's coverage of the Titans, they at times seem to have their priorities maybe a little backwards. One of today's lead stories about the Titans is that VY missed practice on Wednesday because of an injured thumb. That would lead a reader to believe that VY hurt it in practice or in the action he got on Thanksgiving Day. Turns out VY has an infection in the cuticle of his right thumb.
Coach Jeff Fisher said the team's medical staff treated the infection, which surfaced after Thursday's game at Detroit, with an antibiotic but it didn't work.
"We are just going to back him down from throwing for the next few days," Fisher said. "I don't see any problems at this point with him being able to play in the game.''
Wow, leading a story about the #2 QB having a infected cuticle, what a news flash. His injury probably won't affect how the Titans play against the Browns on Sunday, in fact, it's deserves little more than a mention in "Other Injuries"
BTW, the "Other Injuries" portion of the article mentions players who will have an effect on tht Titnas/Browns game on Sunday. Cornerbacks Cortland Finnegan (hamstring) and Nick Harper (ankle) missed practice.

MERSA, cowboy....he'll be fine, they didn't treat it right because they weren't sure it was Mersa!!
They did treat it right away but the treatment didn't work. His injured thumb isn't nearly as big a problem as the two CBs being hurt, especially Finnegan. With that, they should probably sit both of them, they are going against Ken Dorsey.
they didn't treat it right because they weren't sure it was Mersa!!
that means the 1st antibiotics they put him on didn't work, because they were not sure it was Mersa.
Fine. It's a complete non-story. He's the backup, no, he's the #3 QB. Why am I still talking about this...moving on.
??
okie dokie move onto your cowboys then, whatindahell?
no one said it wasn't a story, i wanted YOU to know he was gonna be OK! i don't rightly give a shit what positiion he holds on the titans, i like the guy, i sent out a press release last night on this, he's gonna be OK, Mersa is common-hell we even have outbreaks here in the schools, athletes etc..it's a scary thing to get, but they can treat it.
This is a random question but, why isn't Teresa Walker's name on the stories she does about the Titans? She's a beat writer and does a really good job.
Whatever VY has is still listed here as an infection, nothing else.
i guess you would have to email the paper/press core she works for & ask them. I don't have my name on shit, i want it that way ;0 for the exact reason i emailed you about this morning babe!!
Mersa is an infection oh lordie i'm sorry i said anything LMAO!
Mersa scares people, if it's not treated it can actually eat flesh. go, google it :)
Don't worry about saying anything about it, the Titans are probably keeping it quiet figuring he's been through enough.
Any idea how he got it?
no idea, however it's common , especially among athletes:
it may first look like a spider bite, boil or abscess. It can even resemble a turf burn.
it's very common in locker rooms, weight rooms, uniforms etc..it's bacterial kind of like a form of Staph.
even the high school here, the middle school, elementary school, we all have had our share of this scare. a few kids had it last year in my kids class. they clean with special chemicals that kill the bacteria. he could have picked it up at his local gym....i use a chemical for my benches & treadmills etc...that kills everything, hep, mersa, any sort of bacteria. you just never know anymore.
i don't they are covering it up or anything, it's just really not "big news" because it is soooo very common in the athletic world.
Didn't we just used to use bleach on everything?
LMFAO! YES
however in the schools here & in our codes here we aren't allowed to anymore. i know in the schools , they aren't even allowed to use LYSOL spray.......crazy is that not? tis the way it be.
