VY avoids the local media after Thanksgiving game

Vince saw his first action since the season opener on September 7th. He had a decent game in mop-up duty in the Titans 41-10 win over the Lions.

After the game reporters wanted to know how Young felt to get his first action.

Young wasn't in a mood to discuss his appearance, at least not with reporters from Nashville. He answered two questions from a Westwood One Radio reporter.
"We're just consistent and playing ball right now and we can't pay attention to what a lot of everybody else is saying," Young told the reporter. "We are just worrying about ourselves and that is basically what we have been doing.
"We've been playing aggressive and defense is playing a great game and the whole team is playing a great game. We're just playing together as a whole as the Tennessee Titans. Every game is going to get better and all we have to do is take it one game at a time. It is just a long season.''
Approached again later, Young again declined to comment. Asked about being back in the flow as he walked away, Young replied: "I wasn't in no flow. I was just handing the ball off.''

Why a Westwood One reporter? Who knows VY has declined to talk to reporters since the game on Thursday even though he was scheduled to meet with reporters on Monday. We'll see what he has to say on Wednesday when everyone is fair game to the media.

Blowing off the beat writers is just plain dumb. If you want to blow off a columnist fine, but the beat writers? Dumb
Climer said yesterday that VY wasn't a real big story right now, the new Vols coach was.

Sorry chicka, he's got one of, if not the most player friendly set of beat writers and local media in the NFL. Even the columnists and the talk radio here are tame, no one is out to get VY. He has no reason to avoid them, they don't ask a lot of real tough questions.
If someone was doing a hatchet job on him like happens in most NFL cities that would be different. Think he'd make it in Dallas, Denver, New York, Washington, Philly, Detroit, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, or his hometown of Houston? He'd be a complete train wreck if he was playing in other cities.
