Albert Haynesworth has made his contract position crystal clear to the Titans; I ain't givin' the Titans a hometown discount. I've questioned whether Haynesworth is worth a big-money contract, whether or not he was contract-year stud, a guy who would loaf it after he got paid. I'm still not sure if Haynesworth is that tyoe of guy or not, he's been a beast the last two seasons and has led the Titans defense to becoming one fo the best in the NFL. Along the way, Haynesworth has been a tutor to some of the younger D-linemen and has shown much more maturity than he did his first few seasons in the league. Now that it's time for him to make his big paycheck, I have no problems with him wanting all he can get. He plays a position that gets pounded on play after play and unlike a defensive end he doesn't make the plays that make the highlights, he makes the plays that show up on coaches' tape. Simply put, he's a difference maker and deserves to be paid like one whether it's the Titans or another team.
In an interview with Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean conducted in Tampa, Haynesworth said;
“Not unless they give me a 100 percent guaranteed contract,’’ the veteran defensive tackle said with a smile Thursday as he visited the site of Super Bowl XLIII.
"You want to try and make as much as you can because if you have a career-ending injury you are out … and the team sure as heck is not going to pay you. It’s not like baseball or basketball. You want to get as much as possible.’’
Although he declined to go into specifics, Haynesworth is seeking a six-year deal that would make him the highest paid defensive player in the NFL.
“I’m not Terrell Suggs, that’s all I can say,’’ Haynesworth said of Baltimore’s Pro Bowl linebacker, one of several Raven defenders scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent.“He was saying they’d all stay and take a hometown discount, but it is kind of hard now being in the NFL and that contract is not guaranteed. My agent knows what we want to get and he has a number he wants to get. … I just want some money.’’
Haynesworth also took a shot at the Titans and the pace of negotations with them.
“It has been going slow, really,’’ he said. “But that’s what kind of happened last year, them being slow. I guess I thought it would be a little faster since free agency is coming up here, but they’re taking their time; they’re methodical. We’ll see how it plays out.’’

Titans fans hope it plays out that he stays in NashVegas, Haynesworth says he wants to stay in NashVegas but when money starts talking it's hard to ignore. Good Luck Big Al.

i wonder what will happen with this!
why would he even compare himself to Suggs? he's far better then!
Haynesworth meant no hometown discount. Suggs said he would give the Ravens a hometown discount so he could keep playing with Bart Scott and Ray Lewis.
AHHHH ok!!
well fitz offered to do the same for boldin........maybe albert should & he can stay with his team mates?
Big Al knows the Titans are way under the cap next year and can pay him. The only guy they could really ask to restructure is VY, no one else is making silly money.
true, specially since collins starting!
